Standing Cypress was one of my mother's favorite things to talk about growing. I don't know if she ever did. Yours looks great. My vitex is just now showing some purple blooms.

I just saw the standing cypress at the Wildflower Center last week...I love it! How tall is yours? It seemed to be about 4' at the WFC. Yours looks beautiful! Also, do you have any tips for the butterfly weed? I planted one late last summer and it did well until the freeze - lots of caterpillars but now it's barely growing...was late coming back and maybe has six or seven leaves... ;/

That Cottonwood is certainly cranking it out - looks like a light dusting of snow (if only it would melt, right!). Like the color & exotic form of the Geranium blooms - quite nice.

Seedscatterer: Thanks, and this is a great time for vitex!
Cat: The tallest standing cypress is about 5' but last year a few got over 6'tall. As for the butterfly weed, maybe just a little food and time? Mine also died back with the freeze and is slowly returning to full size.
RBell: Yes, if only the cotton would melt!

Wow...that reminds me of when I lived in a rental with a huge cottonwood in the backyard...I remember walking out one morning in June or July and actually had to stop for a moment...thinking it was snow!
