I have never seen so many rain lilies en masse all around Austin. Guess the drought followed by a good rain followed by cool-ish weather (for May) make the perfect conditions for a lily explosion. Plus, there's something funny about the cactus/rain lily combo.

I've never seen this many either! I'm loving it! I counted over 70 in the small greenbelt space behind my fence! Lovely ;)
Have see large areas of the native white rain lilies everywhere around here (ain't it great!). In the past, I actually collected some of their seed and was able to raise them - though they have not thrived in my garden (thinking they want more sun). Great shots.
